¡®Gori' stool / 2007
16mm steel tube, spilt French cane
360x270x550mm / 400x290x470mm
Stools are sometimes the most simple of objects but can often offer the most versatility serving a wide variety of practical uses. From these uses, this stool focuses solely on the act of sitting while challenging perceptions of comfort. Also I aimed to design a stool produce-able yet aesthetic through minimized structure utilizing an economical manufacturing process.
¡®Gori' is formed of bent steel tube and hand-wrapped with cane on the sitting area giving natural texture. ¡®Gori', meaning ¡®ring' in Korean, references the continuous steel tube forming both seat and leg.
